Cycling route: Col de Joux-Verte

A steep road along the beautiful Lac de Montriond. It's hard not to stop, but be sure to do so on the way down. Watch out for the goats in the village of Les Lindarets! Gradient: 6%.

This legendary col has featured in the Tour de France seven times. Quite shady at first and consisting of steeper ramps between long false flats, the gradient kicks up to 10% after Montriond. Be careful when going through Les Lindarets, as it is not unusual to find herds of goats nonchalantly occupying the road! The final section of the climb is more regular, zigzagging up through the forest to the Col de Joux verte.
