Conférence : L'affaire du train d'or hongrois" proposée et animée par Monique Constant
In December 1944, the “Arrow Crosses”, Hungarian Nazis fleeing from the arrival of the Red Army, shipped the goods looted from the Jews to the west. The most valuable arrived in Tyrol, in the French zone of occupation in Austria. Monique Constant, honorary general curator of heritage, former deputy director of the archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will share in her conference the research she carried out for the French government on the fate of property stolen from the Jews of Hungary, evacuated by the Nazis towards Switzerland and found in Tyrol, in the French occupation zone.
